How To Import a Demo Content And Widgets Content:
One of the things that makes wordpress very powerful is the
possibility of uploading a demo content to your Wordpress website. You can also import widgets content.
Here's a short tutorial to show you how to upload a demo content and a widgets content to your Wordpress site:
Importing the Demo Content:
First of all, download Shapely demo content using the link below:
- Go to your Wordpress dashboard > Tools > Import > Wordpress and upload your demo content file (shapely-demo.xml)
- Change your website from blog layout to static website. to do that go to Wordpress dashboard > Setting > Reading > Front Page Displays > A Static Page(Select below).
Installing The Wordpress Widgets Content:
- Go to your Wordpress dashboard > Plugins > Add New
- Once the plugin installed go to your Wordpress dashboard > Tools > Widget Importer and Exporter then import the "shapely-widgets.wie" file download earlier.
How To Set up The Front/Home Page Manually:
If you don't want to import a demo content to your Wordpress website, in the next steps I will show you how to do it manually:- Go to Wordpress dashboard > Pages > Add New to create a new page called "Front Page".
- Go To "Page Attributes" (on the right side of your post editor) to change the template of your front page. Choose "Home Page" From the template downtown. Click "Update" to save changes.
- Once this page is ready to use, all you have to do is to set it as a Home Page. Go to Wordpress dashboard > Setting > Reading > Front page displays > A Static page(you must select below) then select the newly page created previously.
If you didn't upload the demo content to your Wordpress site, you'Il see only a black page instead of content, therefore if you won't your home page to look as mentionned previously so we will explain in the next steps how to do it step-by-step withoud the need of uploading a demo content.
How To Set Up A Portfolio Section:
I have mentionned previously in this guide that you need a Jetpack Wordpress plugin. if you didn't already install it, please go to: your Wordpress dashboard > Plugins > Add New and type "Jetpack" into the search box then hit enter!
Once you make sure that the plugin is well installed and activated, follow these steps:- Go to Jetpack > Setting > enable the Custom Content Types then click "Configure".
- Your Wordpress site is ready to add portfolio items, to do it go to your Wordpress dashboard > Portfolio > Add New.
- Set the portfolio widget to be displayed in the front page. to do that go to your Wordpress dashboard > Appearrance > Customize > Widgets > Homepage then select [Shapely] Portfolio Home Widget.
How To Set Up Parallax and aligned images Sections:
Shapely Wordpress theme allows you to create parallax and aligned image sections on your Wordpress site.
There is two kind of parallax:
- Small; With small background
- Full Screen: With full screen background
There are 4 options for image alignment: left, right, top and bottom.
You can change the position on your "Parallax Widget".

How To Add Testimonials section on your Wordpress Site:
